Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 May 2026

1. Service description

CompliantHQ is an automated compliance scanning service that checks websites for cookie and consent issues, digital accessibility (WCAG/EAA), and the content of privacy policies, consent forms and terms against GDPR, and provides an AI-generated remediation plan based on the findings. The service is provided by Style4 Solutions AB (Org.nr 556910-5926), Lievägen 3, 599 31 Ödeshög, Sweden.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use CompliantHQ beyond the free initial scan. You are responsible for keeping your email address current and for any activity that occurs under your account.

3. Free trial

New accounts receive a 30-day free trial with one site. After the trial period, you must add billing details to continue using the service and to add more sites. If billing details are not provided, your account will be paused. Your data is retained and the account can be reactivated at any time by adding billing details.

4. Pricing and payment

Prices are listed on the pricing page and billed quarterly in advance. Pricing is based on the number of sites and the total scanning volume across them; current prices and how they're calculated are on the pricing page. We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days notice. Existing subscriptions are honoured at the original price until renewal.

5. What we scan

CompliantHQ scans websites you register using an automated browser (Playwright/Chromium). You must only register websites that you own or have explicit permission to scan. Scanning generates automated traffic to the target website — typically anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand page loads per scan, depending on the size of the site and your configuration. Trial accounts are limited to one scan of a subset of the website's pages.

6. Accuracy and limitations

Scan results are provided as-is. While we strive for accuracy, automated scanning cannot guarantee detection of all compliance issues. CompliantHQ is a monitoring tool, not legal advice. You are responsible for ensuring your website complies with applicable regulations (GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, etc.).

7. Interpretive judgments

Compliance is rarely black and white. Legislation, regulator guidance and case law provide frameworks but not detailed answers for every concrete situation. CompliantHQ takes professional positions in such grey areas based on current statutory text, decisions from IMY, DIGG, PTS and other relevant supervisory authorities, case law from the EU Court of Justice and Swedish administrative courts, and established industry practice. We adapt our assessments to the Customer's context — for example, we apply a stricter threshold for public sector bodies (municipalities, state agencies) and listed companies than for privately held smaller businesses, because supervisory expectations differ. These assessments are positions we believe are defensible, not guarantees of how a supervisory authority or court will rule on a specific matter. We update them on an ongoing basis when new decisions, judgments or practice provide reason. The Customer is responsible for final compliance and may, if legal certainty is required, seek their own legal advice.

8. Data and privacy

See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data. Scan results are stored securely and only accessible to members of your account. A data processing agreement (DPA) under GDPR Art. 28 is available on our DPA page — that's where you'll find the summary and can request the signed PDF.

9. Security and incident notification

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: TLS encryption in transit, field-level encryption of sensitive data, least-privilege access control, and continuous security logging. If we detect a security incident affecting your personal data, we will (a) notify the Swedish supervisory authority (IMY) within 72 hours as required by GDPR Art. 33, and (b) inform affected users without undue delay as required by GDPR Art. 34.

10. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Scan websites you do not own or have permission to scan.
  • Use the service to attack, overload, or disrupt other websites.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent trial or plan limits.
  • Create accounts intended to abuse, probe, or disrupt the service rather than to use it for compliance scanning.
  • Resell the service without a partner agreement.

11. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us at hello@complianthq.ai. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

12. Liability

CompliantHQ is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Style4 Solutions AB is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes that cannot be resolved through negotiation shall be settled by Linköping District Court (Linköpings tingsrätt) as court of first instance.

14. Changes

We may update these terms with 30 days notice via email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
